Khajuraho, the most popular tourist destination widely acclaimed for its wonderful temples. The city is placed in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh that is nearly 625 km from southeast New Delhi. The fascinating architectural views of temples are the great examples of Indian art. All the temples are adorned with remarkable aesthetic and erotic sculptures that describe the values of Hindu religion. The availing temples of Khajuraho can be divided in three geographical regions eastern, southern and western. The splendor and dignity of the city is due to the creative thoughts, religious commitment and imaginative sense of the well known ruler Chandela. Eastern Group of Temples
This part of the region is constructed with lots of historical temples like Adinath Temple, Hanuman Temple, Parsvanath Temple, Brahma Temple etc. which tells the story of ancient Hindu devotees and artistic sculptors. Among all the temples Brahma temple and Parsvanath temple are the major tourist attractions.
Western Group of Temples
Chaunsat Yogini Temple, Kandariya Mahadeo, Chitragupta Temple, Lakshamana Temple, Chaunsat Yogini and Matangeswara Temple are seated in the western part of the city. Kandariya Mahadeo temple which is dedicated to lord Shiva is touching the height of 31 m and is the largest temple of western regions of the city. The Lakshamana Temple shows the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiv along with goddess Lakshmi.
Southern Group of Temples
Sculptors have shown lack of creativity in this region. The southern part of the city is holding by two spiritual temples likely Dulah Dao Temple and Chaturbhuja Temple. The Dulah Dao temple which is totally dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most recent temples in Khajuraho.
